Five MENtal Insights

“Male suicide and mental health issues are rising. We need to keep talking and remember that asking for help will be the bravest think we ever do.”

This year more than ever we have to keep talking, and for many men this can be challenging. On 19th November it was International Men’s Day, so I want to dedicate this episode to the mental wellbeing of men. In 2017 alone there were 6,000 suicides in the UK – 75% were men. And having experienced two male suicides in our close family, I feel passionate about this area.

Today I dive into the Sporting Edge Members Library and share five impactful insights from lead performers. Join me as I unpack self-confidence and ways to overcome the inner-critic with England football manager Gareth Southgate and South African cricketer Dale Steyn. We also hear from Olympian Sir Mo Farah, former Olympic rower Sir Matthew Pinsent, and Aussie cricket legend Shane Warne about mental toughness and the importance of celebrating our wins. It’s been a tough year for us all, but let’s make the most of these days. Keep moving forward and talking.
